“Thank you for the perfect second leg of our honeymoon. We loved the orchard and the flower meadow and pond-great for a glass of wine in the evening. Also discovered Hipperson’s Boat Yard in Beccles for a day boat, the Buck Inn a short walk away for food and lovely quiet beaches for swimming, playing with dogs and bird watching at Covehithe and Benacre.”

Sam’s Stable
“This was our sixth stay at Old Rectory Cottages and we have sampled three of the cottages available. All are equally warm, comfortable and well equipped and come with a welcome pack of beer, sweets and home made cake - chocolate and banana this time which was delicious. Sam’s Stable has a comfortable bed and plenty of storage for clothes. The wet room has a good shower.
“We came this time for peace and quiet which we know are to be found here. The 7 acres of ground which surround the property are available for walking round or just sitting in. We didn’t venture far this time but enjoyed Halesworth for its bookshop and organic shop and Framingham for its castle and excellent restaurant Watson and Walpole. It is expensive but worth it when you have something to celebrate. There are some excellent independent shops in Bungay ( 10 minutes drive). We often enjoy breakfast in the Earsham Street café.
“However our favourite thing to do, even in February with coats and scarves on, is to sit in the garden looking out to the orchard and the fields beyond and listening to the silence.
“The hosts Keith and Jeannie are unobtrusive but always there to help and advise if needed.”
We will be back.

“This is our 6th or 7th visit (not sure which!). As before we have loved our time at Old Rectory Cottages- The view of the orchard, the peace & quiet and the excellent welcoming hosts. But this time it was even better!! We were delighted this time to sample Jeannie’s delicious home cooking. Choosing what to eat and having it brought to our cottage made us feel very spoilt.
“As before we have enjoyed visits to Earsham Street Café and the Fleece
Hotel. We also found Walberswick very pleasant during the “off season”.
We hope to be back before too long. Thanks Jeannie & Keith for a great
stay.”
