Sam's Stable
A clever conversion of the Rectory’s Victorian stable block has resulted in a spacious single storey property, with excellent views over the Old Rectory’s fruit orchard to the surrounding farm land. The high ceilings reinforce the ambience of spaciousness, add a log burner for those romantic winter evenings and Sam’s Stable offers a perfect retreat to escape from the pressures of a busy life.
Although the modern chic kitchen is fully equipped, if you’d rather take a break from the cooking, there is a great selection of country pubs/restaurants a short drive away and we are always happy to offer recommendations.

“A very special rare place, highly recommended.
What a find! It has its own beautiful wild flower meadow, orchard and large lily pond
within the 7 acre grounds, so it was a real treat to get back to nature and relax. We have
never seen muntjac deer before but one came in the garden! There are 5 one bedroom lets
available here. One is a lodge, two are semi detached brick cottages and two are next to
each other as part of the lower level of the old rectory itself. All are highly dog friendly.
We stayed 5 night's at Sam’s Stables which is one of the semi cottages. It has its own fenced
in garden which leads out onto the orchard. The bedroom was beautifully decorated with lovely
quality textiles and furniture and the bed was king sized and comfy. There is a wet room
with a good shower. The sitting room has a leather two seater chesterfield and a chair.
The tv is a good size LG ( not like those teeny terrible tvs you get in some places) and
you can access Netflix and there is a fire stick too. The living room and kitchen are open
plan with a tiled floor and attractive clean rugs. There is a good quality oven and hob
in the kitchen which is up to date and relatively well equipped. There is a fridge freezer
and dishwasher. There are lots of little extra touches and a welcome pack of beers, cakes
and sweets. The cottage was very clean. It’s a great place for couples with dogs to stay
and to book adjoining properties with friends. They also offer breakfast and evening meal
brought to your cottage for you if you would like that. I think mid-week this is a good
idea as many places around are closed Monday to Weds inclusive! Although the owners live
at the property they are good hosts, available as little or as much as you need them. It’s
in a great location for travel, we had never been to Suffolk before and found everything
was within a 30-40 min drive. We saw most of Suffolk. The only downside was the maintenance
which was carried out two mornings in a row disturbing our peace and privacy but we appreciate
it’s difficult to get workmen, We are recommending this special place to friends and family.”
