Dogs Welcome

We are dog friendly!

There are plenty of dog friendly walks around the cottages, and you can exercise them in our 5-acre field which is full of the scents left by rabbits and pheasants.

There are woodland and excellent country lane walks without even having to get into your car.

We make no extra charge for dogs (maximum 2 per cottage).

We do however have a set of “Rules” (see below) which are in place to ensure both you, your dog and other guests enjoy their holiday whilst ensuring that we can continue to offer high quality accommodation.

House Rules

  • Dogs are not allowed in the bedrooms
  • Please use the covers provided if your dog is likely to sit on the furniture and keep them from contact with the soft furnishings.
  • We can provide stair gates in the cottages which will help control where your dog can wander in the cottage.
  • Your dog must not be left alone with free run of the property. We provide a guide of dog friendly pubs and restaurants and places to visit so that your dog can be with you as much as possible.
  • Please ensure your dog is supervised outside of the cottage
  • Never left in the cottage by themselves

We can also provide you with details of which local beaches allow dogs – so a run along the beach may be one of the highlights of their holiday.

We look forward to welcoming you and your dog to The Old Rectory.

Send us your Photos

We love to have a reminder of all the different dogs that visit The Old Rectory, so we thought it would be a great idea to have a photographic log of our canine visitors. We’d love to add lots of extra pictures to this page. so if you’d like to photograph your dog during their stay and send it us by e-mail.
