Since 1096, the Cathedral has been a place of worship,a historic treasure and an iconic landmark towering over the City. There is much to see on a visit, so here are a few of the highlights:-
- The grave of Edith Cavell the first world war heroine who was executed in 1915 and is celebrated for nursing troops from both sides without discrimination
- Budge the Cathedral Cat who has made his home in Cathedral having wandered in back in 2018
- Visitors in May and June may get the opportunity to see the newly born Peregrine Falcons
- A unique font which is used for baptisms, formed from 2 copper bowls used to manufacture chocolate, gifted to the Cathedral when the Rowntree Mackintosh factory closed in 1994
