Situated on the border between Suffolk and Norfolk, and laying in grounds of almost seven acres – surrounded by farmland on three sides, the grounds are a haven for wildlife. The four one bedroom self catering holiday cottages provide the ideal holiday location if you want to leave behind the strains of town or city living and relax in the tranquil surroundings of a Victorian rectory amidst rolling unspoilt Suffolk countryside.
Well behaved dogs are welcome in all of our self catering holiday cottages.
The one bedroom self catering holiday cottages have been sympathetically converted from Victorian buildings retaining the original features where possible. Individually decorated and furnished to a very high standard, to ensure they are as unique in character as they are diverse in style. Enjoy the King or Super King size bed and the luxury of the Egyptian Cotton linen & towels. The holiday cottages have a 4-Star assessment by VisitEngland. In addition all four of our cottages have received the accolade of a coveted Gold Award – reserved for accommodation that provides exceptional quality in all areas, but in particular in service and hospitality. We normally welcome you personally to The Old Rectory and show you around your cottage. We are here during your stay in the event that you wish to contact us. We have a good knowledge of the local area which enables us to recommend places or events that many visitors to the area do not get the opportunity to experience and our philosophy is to go the “extra mile” to ensure you have a really enjoyable holiday!
We offer short breaks between October and the end of April, but it is always worthwhile telephoning us or looking at our website at other times if you are arranging a last minute break.
The village pub is a short stroll away from the cottages, The village is also the home of the fascinating Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum.
The market towns of Bungay; Harleston and Beccles offer a good range of shops; Norwich with its excellent cultural and shopping facilities is 19 miles away from the holiday cottages. The Suffolk Heritage Coast is also within easy driving distance. The area is a paradise for walkers and birdwatchers.
Whilst we can’t guarantee good weather during your holiday at The Old Rectory, the statistics are in your favour, Suffolk and Norfolk boast one of the best climates in the country and the lowest rainfall in the UK (as little as one fifth of the South West and half that of the South Coast).
